LAN Transportation and Distribution Manager (ML)
·Establish operational discipline within the team to support and achieve the business objectives
·Ensure that all product flow and carriers meets all LAN compliance requirements for agrochemicals, field machinery, seeds and traits, field to plant and internal security protocols.
·Understand the dynamics across all business units including production cycle, lead time requirements, logistics and manufacturing operations, customers, vendors, and key aspects of the sales cycle. Think both tactically and strategically without daily direct supervision.
·Assure the correct execution of Transportation Management Solution (JDA) according global expectations and compliance with local payments.
·Coordinate the Carriers services according to the business needs, evaluating level and quality of service, as well as compliance with security protocols.
·Ensure to give the correct visibility to our internal and external customers about estimated times of arrivals
·Ensure to share the monthly metrics of the transportation companies that allow us to increase their service level, security approach and availability
·Establish action plans with carriers that allow increasing the level of service, safety and security.
·Ensure the carriers availability for the different regional and business divisions.
·Develop and implement strategies and establish and maintain strategic relationships with suppliers to ensure successful implementation and support. Understand market aspects and complexity on a regional basis.
·Comply with delivery times committed to our internal and external customers and coordinate improvements to ensure that the product arrives in optimal conditions and on time to destination
·Support, participate and implement Global initiatives for logistics. Encourage and support the team to drive changes and improvements. Represents logistics interests on cross functional teams and partners with other functional leads in pursuit of business objectives.
·Based on the results and metrics of the area, establish actions or strategies that allow us to improve the service and costs as a transportation area
·Monitoring the productivity and metrics of the operation to ensure operational excellence. Also, keep a proper statistical control of the KPIs defined for the region, enabling timely decision making.
·Prepare budgets and update Forecast during the year, in order to maintain control of expenses in transportation
·Ensure that all the concerns of customers are registered in Salesforce or GIMs for their solution and statistics. Direct investigations to verify and resolve customer or shipper complaints.
·Ensure that the findings found in audits or during operations are registered in the tool (GIMs) to generate corrective and preventive actions.
·Lead team performance and development. Ensure that process for setting and monitoring business objectives (DPR), as well personal development plans (PDP) of the team, are established under Monsanto guidelines, including safety culture.
·Ensure training of personnel in charge, directly or indirectly, in all operational procedures established by ISO, SOX, ESH, Internal Control or security guidelines.
·Foster professional and personal growth and development. Provide effective coaching on how to improve the contribution of individuals to the company.
·Attract, develop, and retain talent base.
·Ensure compliance with standards and guidelines established by the SCT or other government agencies; as well as internally with Security and Stewardship.
·Update of work instructions (IT's) or operating procedures for transportation operations in LAN; as well as ensuring compliance
·Participate in QMS and STW audits to ensure proper compliance with transportation procedures
Education degree Bachelor degree
Areas of study Industrial Engineering, Business, International business or related field. Logistics, Supply chain.
Required Experience At least 6 years in transportation and logistics operations.
Areas of Experience General knowledge in the areas of supply chain, logistics and distribution, finance, accounting, transportation management. Lean Manufacturing
English requirements Bilingual
Personnel Staff experience (years) At least 4 years
Leadership and negotiating skills.
