Process Engineer
Our Soda Springs, Idaho plant, a leading producer of elemental phosphorus, is seeking a qualified Process Engineer.  As a key member of our Manufacturing Team, you will be responsible for providing chemical process knowledge, scheduling, logistics, product quality, and process engineering support to our manufacturing areas. 
Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and analyze operating data from the manufacturing process using statistical tools, both proactively (statistical quality/process control) and reactively (troubleshooting).
  • Project engineering and management includes scope, plan and schedule, detailed design, cost estimating and tracking, construction and startup.
  • Track and manage key performance indicators and conversion costs pertinent to monthly raw material usage, product volumes, inventory and technical practices. Initiate and implement cost and process improvements.
  • Provide process control auditing on performance metrics and troubleshooting support to production personnel as needed to identify and correct problems that impact raw material yields, capacity, safety, and product quality.
  • Create and maintain process, safety, and environmental documentation, including process flow diagrams, operating instructions, management of change (MOC) forms, etc.  Exhibit a strong safety ethic through coaching or engineered improvements.
  • Assist manufacturing leadership in identifying improvements related to raw material yields, capacity, energy, quality, product safety and the environment.
  • Work with Process Control Engineers to become proficient in coding and troubleshooting DCS system
Required Skills/Experience:
  • Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering (Will consider December 2018 or May 2019 graduates)
  • Minimum of 0-3+ years relevant experience as a process engineer in a chemical plant or manufacturing environment.
  • Prior internship/coop experience in a chemical or manufacturing plant required
  • Training or coursework in Six Sigma principles.
  • Experience or training in project definition, design, process control, and statistics
  • Experience/training or coursework with PROVOX and/or Delta V Distributed control systems
Desired Skills/Experience:
  • Training or coursework in Six Sigma principles.
  • Experience or training in project definition, design, process control, and statistics
  • Familiarity with PROVOX and/or Delta V Distributed control systems.
