The Bayer US Row Crops Organization is seeking a highly motivated Production Lead to join our Farmer City, IL team.  The Production Lead reports to the Site Lead and is a member of the Farmer City Leadership Team leading the team supporting Field operations.  The Production Lead has leadership responsibility for the site Production Managers and Production Associates and is expected to get results through high personal proficiency, delegation of tasks, coordinating the work of others, developing/coaching others, developing the team and collaborating regionally to innovate and improve processes.
The Production Lead will maintain a strong relationship with Crop Leadership, the QMS/Compliance Lead, ESH Specialist, Production Engineer, Automation Engineer, other site support personnel and direct operations at the site and resolve production challenges.  The successful candidate will need to be able to adapt quickly to changes in our business, courageously face new challenges and opportunities and leverage the talents, skills and resources of team members and peers.
  • Manages direct reports through motivation, recognition, leadership, and employee development and administration
  • Provides overall direction to the site and/or field operations and implements site strategy in collaboration with the Site Lead and Site Leadership Team
  • Supports and helps track financial management activities such as budgeting, cost management, capital management, expense reporting, payroll tracking and DOA control
  • Drives operational improvements, metrics tracking and implementation of best practices through team members and along with peers
  • Represents and contribute to the site’s involvement to cultivate trust in the community
  • Accountable for adherence of team to governmental rules and regulations as well as Monsanto ESH initiatives and objectives to ensure worker safety
  • Supports implementation and improvement of QMS systems to deliver the quality products that meet/exceed stakeholder and customer quality expectations
  • Minimum of a BS with 6+ years experience in a manufacturing, agricultural, engineering and/or technical environment
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop people and teams
  • Results oriented leadership approach
  • Capability to clearly present information and influence or persuade others through oral or written communications
  • Valid Driver's license
  • Ability to make decisions and solve problems while exhibiting situational judgment
    Qualifications – Desired Skills/ Experience:
  • Experience with agriculture, seed manufacturing
  • Experience in working and/or leading in a matrix environment
  • Computer proficiencies to include SAP
  • Knowledge of process improvement principles such as Lean, Six Sigma
